 Hello,SLRR users. I am one person of some SLRR groups of Japan. Now, in japan, SLRR has been a problem. This is because almost all players are carrying out SLRR of the crack. SLRR of japan is "Activision has abandoned the license of SLRR" reason many flows in japan However, since it was worrisome in whether what has actually happened, it came to the question. Sorry if this post is difficult to translate.
1. Most people here, as far as I know, have a downloaded copy of SLRR. There might be a few people with packaged CD copies, but this is unlikely. I, myself, have a packaged CD copy of Street Legal 1 that I bought several years ago, so I at least paid Activision / Invictus for something at some point! 2. Technically, Activision and Invictus still exist, and haven't officially "abandoned" SLRR (as far as I know). No, SLRR is not officially a "free game". Invictus may actually still sell packaged copies of SLRR from their website, but it may be difficult to order one. (I personally would like to buy a copy officially if I could figure out how.) 3. This really depends on whether or not you have a packaged copy, and what the copyright laws in Japan are like. If you have a packaged copy, you can absolutely continue playing. If you don't have one, do some research into your country's copyright laws (as well as international laws) so you are informed of any possible problems.
