So I've been searching for a long time for a game with the type of customization I see in this game and I JUST now discovered it. :( With that said, I definitely WANT IN but it's hard knowing where to start. I went to the guide and downloaded the 2.2.1 version with the patch but I've seen so many different videos and comments and suggestions on mods etc.... and it's incredibly overwhelming on figuring out how to get started in this game.

Would anyone be willing to shoot me some advice and tips?

Your best bet would be to use BB93's version of the game. It's far more stable then most of the older version's.

and as for patches for it i suggest this if you want to be able to use mods from 2.3.0 LE.

and as for mods here is a list of some of the best ones the forum has.

also sparky's editing tool will help with adding motors to cars.

and also a thing to remember with bb93's version when using sparky's editing tool make sure you take the AlfaRomeo_Bialbero.rpk out of the engine folder before you do anything or else it will cause errors with sparky's editor.

Thanks a ton for all your help! Do I just need to apply this update from BB93 to the current install of the game?

the bb93 file is a whole game on its own and the bb93 to 230le is the patch for it.

Thanks @munkeh and thanks @Singh. I eventually realized I didn't have the entire game download, I went ahead and got everything squared away before you guys posted :)

Also @Singh I saw that guide before posting here ;) Like I mentioned, just a bit overwhelmed is all :) Thanks for all the helps peeps, looking forward to learning and showing off builds. :)

Added 8 hours later:

So far things are good, but I can't seem to be getting the patch working to allow LE cars to work. :( I drag and drop the file like I should, but it just crashes every time.

^^ try going in to the saves folder and look for one called cars and try deleting the menu car files and see if that works i have the crash issue and it usually helps deleting them.

it will just make is so there is no car on the main menu screen and wont break the game.

also install mods 1 at a time and then test them this way if the game crashes you know what mod it is causing the crash and make sure you start a fresh game every time you add mods to keep the game from throwing errors/crashing

@munkeh, awesome I will try that, yea I learned the hard way basically doing one mod at a time. Thankfully only took one time for me to figure that one out haha. I will try deleting that file and see if I can get the LE cars working that way.

All the mod cars go in /racers right?

Yes, all mod cars go into cars/racers.
Rim/misc mods go in /parts.
Engine mods go into /parts/engines.
Good luck and hope to see your builds around the forum!

@fireful0 thanks and yea been putting them all there, tried that menu car delete to no avail :( Still trying, I'm adding cars slowly since I have to make sure all these cars are working, already got one car somewhat done as practice but I'm itching for bigger and better!
