Hey, im a bit new here so sorry if this has already been posted before. ive been searching for the past hour ish and could only find things about the SLRR Editor which i am already aware of. i am not trying to edit slots for an engine
How do you add an engine in the engine catalog? i tried looking through the devils v8 source and i have no idea where to search for this.
I would like to try to modify the j2z engine from this supra mod
So you could buy the block from the i6 section in the catalog, along with its parts.
I also noticed that its missing a few tuner parts with 2.3.1. if possible id love to be given a small push to know where to look for this kind of stuff.
Thank you for your time
Borat if you are using 2.3.0,2.3.1 or MWM2LE and BORAT for Engines to MWM for mwm without addon for LE.
You can find both Here

Is there only one rpk for just the supra or is there also an rpk for the engine, if there's only one for the car you'd have to make a copy and convert the rpk to rbd and then edit every single part that's not for the engine out and it would be 1000x easier to just download the 2jz engine that has already been made into a standalone mod. Try it and if it doesn't work then use borat for your version.
google "slrr 2jz engine"
for 2.3.1 borat should work for missing tuner parts and making engine appear in catalog but only for the supra, you might have to manually place parts in right place be careful to make sure you're putting parts in i6 and not i4.
if you want to use 2jz on other cars then I'd google for it then use slr editor to enable it for the car and borat if parts are missing, in fact I use borat even if i don't notice any missing parts because sometimes intercoolers show up in body parts and i'd rather them be with turbo's, or sometimes kits don't show up.

There is an engine rpk and a rpk for the supra itself. when i tried to open the supra rpk borats editor crashed and i could not modify anything from there.
As for the engine i saved it replaced the rpk and nothing showed up in-game anyways. but ill look for the standalone j2z engine.
I have 2.3.1 so I can check out that supra and see about the engine but I get the feeling I already know why it won't work so easily.
I was able to use borat just fine for the 2jz used in this mod but do not rely on the auto sort, you can use it but you'll have to unselect some parts for being in wrong places also I would suggest putting anything that says body>street body panels or body>mufflers into a place you want to find it by deselecting it in auto sort and manually dragging it where you want it in borat. Auto sort also does not recognize quite a few parts so you'll have to drag those anyway. Assuming the scripts still work fine in 2.3.1 you should be alright with this method but you'll have to use slrr editor after to assign cars to use that engine.
The car will most likely have issues in 2.3.1 anyway because it uses names of in game cars for its scripts, pretty sure renaming the actual files and rpk links for those won't work because there's no source.javas and you have to rename there as well so you might look for a more professionally structured mod for the supra as well.

I wouldve tried to fix it if i had the source but like you said its not there.
Also, do you think there is a way to contact the author? ive been trying but i cant seem to find any way to contact him
I've seen some MF guys around here here recently but not sure if they're active alot lately, all you could do is PM them (once) and wait I suppose.
The scripts for the engine,I would imagine, should be good as they have their own names, let me know how it goes.

Thanks for the help tho. it could still be helpful in the future.
Also, do you think you could link me the guys from MF? i tried to go on their website but its closed and their domain seems to be replaced by one of those spammy ones and MF Team is the only "author" that i see for all of their mods yet it doesnt link it to any profile.
I'll see if I can sort that out and I'll send you an rpk if I get it working. as far as MF team goes just look around the comments of various posts.
