my mem is rusty about it but gorgoli is right, these lines in _main_ .cfg are id's of render (typeof 14) from rpk

u could make a test, make a box with texture, export to scx, place it in RPK, take render id and try out i.e.:

ill show u example, my old mod:

<FILE 00000005.res >
typeof	5
superid	0x00000010
typeid	0x00000A19
alias	osd_rpm.SCX
isparentcompatible	1.00
</FILE>
<FILE 00000005.rsd >
sourcefile parts\pin_mod\meshes\mini_osd.SCX
</FILE>

<FILE 00000016.res >
typeof	14
superid	0x00000004
typeid	0x0000091B
alias	_______________________________
isparentcompatible	1.00
</FILE>
<FILE 00000016.rsd >
mesh 0x00000A19
texture 0x0000091C
texture 0x0000091C
</FILE>

this is in my pin_mod.rpk (i skipped linking to textures)

and this is in my _main_ .car:

osd_gauge		0x000...091B	-0.650 -1.050 1.0

PS. u could try to look into cfgs of my Toyota_soarer_z20 or punkguy's lancer evo 5,6,7?! there were custom osd's as far as i remember

PS2. damn, i miss modding...
If u need help in modding (rpk, cfg, phys, 3dsm) - [email protected], ill try to help, reply ASAP.

You can't change it, almost. Osd mods are a bunch of lines that replaces original SL osd code, basically it's this, if the exe detects those lines, is turns ignores what's wrote in exe about osd lines
