Thanks man, I really enjoy driving it, I think that's the most important thing when it comes to building a car.. I hate when people build "show cars" and either never drive them, or never finish them, there is no purpose in that IMO.

its nice to have a car old enough to able to throw it around and beat on it like a race car, but still be nice enough to clean up and look good.

No i'm from upstate NY, near albany about 10 minutes from there.. why did you think i was from long island? I've been there a few times though, nice place IMO. Kind of brings a hawaii vibe LOL idk why.

well they aren't expensive here, i can't imagine they would be expensive in most places unless you lived in Fiji.

Anyways today was really bad, i've had a slight misfire on cold starts the last few days and today was no different, I figured maybe I got some water in the spark plug holes because i was the car a lot in the winter and have no plastic engine cover for the coils etc.

Well today my coolant level light came on and I noticed a ton of smoke from the exhaust.

obviously my head gasket is again blown and leaking most likely the same way it was before.

So once again I'll be tearing the head off the engine and doing this ridiculous fix again hopefully this time it lasts longer than 3 months.

I'm going to use ARP studs however and not the OEM stretch bolts.

I don't know why did you use in first place OEM studs, everyone uses ARP for how much I know. No hate! And I hope you fix it. ;)

But I didn't understand you clearly, do you plan to fix head or replace? What was the problem before with head?
Too bad to hear that. :(

I'm going to fix it, again.

The reason I used the OEM head bolts (brand new of course I didn't reuse) was because thats what the engine came with brand new, so if they made it 100k + miles then they should be fine .. but apparently they weren't.

The cost of OEM head bolts was $20 versus $200 for ARP studs and when this happened the first time i was completely broke, I could not afford extra bullshit. The entire job cost me like $1200 which was a lot for me.

Now, im broker than before LOL holidays are killer.

This time though I'm not going to machine the head again obviously, it checked out perfect last time and cost a lot to get it done. I think the head bolts are the issue IMO.

So hopefully this time I can just spend about 300 in parts, $100 for head gasket and $200 for the stud kit.

So ridiculous. :(

The worst thing is that when you want to fix your car, and maintaince him like you shoul.. You cant because you don't have enough money. I'm sorry to hear that for your BMW, I'm not big fan of BMW, but car is car, we are all petrolheads.

Dunno, I hope you fix that problems with your engine.

Btw, I never asked, how much HP does he produce? :D
