I'm starting a new thread to show some pics of some projects and ideas I am working on, most of the pics will be pics from my iphone because I rarely have the time to take real screenshots and re-size them so please deal with it.

I've been making a few things since getting the printer together but my biggest projects right now are a BMW e30 cup holder which replaces the ash tray, and the other one is a rear view mirror radar mount / dashboard radar mount for escort 8500 and V1 radars.

Here is the bmw cup holder.

There is many more but you get the idea, I'm still working on the cup holder and first I focus on the function then I will make sure it looks good as the end result.

Here is the radar stuff

This radar mount was originally made by someone else and now i've modded the mount improving it in various ways between better more universal application and function as well as cosmetically. I am printing out two prototypes for the improved mount right now, I will upload more pictures later.

I am also working on a sleeve style mount for the V1 radar which I have two designs that will be printed at once and I will test and see which one works best.

Aside from the mirror mounts for these radars I am working on simple dashboard mounts which raise the radars up enough to clear the wipers and include "feet" that will grab the air vents near the windshield so the radar will not slide around and stay in place, but still be easy to remove when parking the car.

I finished a bmw E39 version, which is very slim but sturdy and low profile.

Here is a pic

I got the suction cups in today and realized right away this is the way to go, one type for all applications and its very sturdy.. very compact for what it is.

For now on i'll just be making these suction cup mounts unless a special request comes in.

I have these printed for both escort and V1 radars. pics of the V1 coming soon the part is still printing :P

Started on an iphone dock for the car

The pieces came out very well and the whole thing is pretty strong

I have to adjust a couple of things including the space between the grooves here

ya haha

anyways i improved the design to better hold the phone and of course it now has a "clip" on the top which makes the phone stay in the dock extremely well.. infact it can't fall out now.

The entire thing is pretty sturdy, the only change I may do is increase the thickness of the 'square' thing that screws into the dock so the screws don't stick out and have better bite with the threads.

for now i'm going to leave it until it breaks.. if ever.

The phone dock is working out amazingly.. very happy with it, by far the best phone dock I've had yet, it doesn't shake while driving or anything. Very strong and the custom fit is perfect.

Now back to the E30 cup holder... printed out the same cup holder in PLA... and I've come to the conclusion that while PLA isn't warping or cracking.. it really is much more delicate and that sucks.

However.. its good for protoyping and that's all I'm trying to do.

So after doing some thinking, I removed the center console from the car and brought it inside to do better measuring and work.

I'm going to make a 3rd gen design now.. which may be what I settle on..

I know this shit seems simple but when you actually get down to it.. its really not... not without the right tools.

So i'm working on getting perfect measurements and curves...

I'm just going off of common sense... so if there is an easier way to do it I won't be surprised.. but I'm new at this.

i want to get one printer, to make models, like this:

what do U think?
maybe U should help me, to print a chassis and some parts for it :D
yepp not for free :D (to see, how it looks like in my hands)

i'd like to work with a similar machine, like yours. In Hungary, there are only 2 or 3 company with 3D printer.
