Herro,

Dave told me to start posting my 3D printing adventures I'll be having with my new toy!

I've been fooling around a bit and started one of the things I really wanted to do for a long time now.. Make my own rc car! It wont be a 1/10 tamiya knockoff or anything, but a project to learn the technical side of the whole designing aspect! I'm planning on doing it to fit a 1.24 body.

So far I took apart a cheap wired remote controlled car, mainly for the motor and gears. Also I found some nice tires for the rims!

The little motor seems to have quite some power, so it will be just fine for this project!

I'm planning on designing a full 1/24 chassis so be patient Dave :p

Last night I did order some of the electronic bits!

When this comes in (takes about 2 weeks) I can really get designing! Meanwhile I'll make rought 3d concepts of the parts and adjust those once I got the proper measurements :)

So you don't or do plan on having this wireless ? it should be very easy to use radio electronics from a hobby rc store and make a full working rc car no>?

maybe take some ideas from here btw

I do! I ordered more stuff last night, all the other stuff that I would need to make a wireless controlled rc. I've also been doing research on on 1/24 rc car frames and setups, but for this one I want to mostly figure stuff out myself.
