I'm a big fan of GTA online overall and I play it often for the most part.

I agree that many things can be improved but am I happy with the gameplay experience overall.

With news of the game hitting next gen consoles very soon I was happy to hear that they are letting players transfer their progress on GTA online to the next console / platforms etc.

This was great news until I thought... will I buy it for Xbox ONE, or PC ? I don't even have Xbox ONE yet and in my opinion these next generation consoles including PS4 have flopped hard.

I remember when next consoles were released when I was a kid.. nobody was playing xbox or even talking about it when the 360 came out. Same with Ps2 and Ps3.

That makes me not want to really get the game for Xbox ONE at all, but I like being able to turn on xbox sometimes and just play a game, without worrying about hardware components and for the most part.. people modding online.

Then I thought, the PC version will be powerful this might bring a new modding scene into play and I will regret not having the game on PC like I regretting missing the GTA IV pc modding phase.

I don't think there would be any problem at all with any of this, until I read that Rockstar is only letting you transfer your online career ONCE.

Yikes ! What if I buy it for Xbox ONE now and then PC after.. then I am screwed. If you play GTA online then you know its not very easy or fun to start from scratch.. transferring your progress is a big deal.

You might think "why not just stay on xbox 360 then?" The issue is of course they will not keep updating the 360 version, and if they do it won't be anything like the next gen console updates.. so staying on 360 or ps3 is really an uphill battle that will be lost and the sooner you quit it the better.

So thats it, I have to get it for PC, or Xbox ONE which I don't even have yet.. is anyone else planning on getting it for the next gen platforms or PC ?

I also think its shitty that they are now deciding to give players 500k online and 500k offline, and not just 1 million online like they made it seem when first announcing the pre order.

I understand the system is designed to keep you losing money in gta online so they can sell in game currency, which is fair trade of vs call of duty games where you have no choice but to buy the DLC's.

I hate choosing between consoles namely because of exclusive games. The only reason I bought a 360 was to play Forza, the trade offs suck. Pay-walls for Netflix (which they only just fixed this year) and online gaming lol... The only option really is to get both consoles which sucks, bad.

I'll probably get it for PS4 in like a year or two, but that's only because Microsoft is so greedy, and only because I don't feel like building a proper PC to play it on lol.

Either you have lots of time for videogames or you don't. They take advantage of that. Not everyone has enough time or effort to hit level 120 and earn all the money the hard way, so we drop extra money to cheat our way up. I agree with the 500k in career mode though. In career mode prices are so much cheaper and there's nothing to spend it on compared to online.

This game looks really cool! I would like to try it on a PS4, if I would have some free time for this

Already have it for 360. Finished it a dozen times. I'm a GTA fan at heart. I would choose it over any game anyday. But the problem is. It doesn't have the fun factor GTASA had. I've got a tank and 2 houses on GTA Online with a few mil' dollars to spare. But theres nothing to do on it. I would love to mod IV on pc if my laptop was good enough. But even then, it wont last long until its 'turn on, steal cars for 10 mins then quit'.

Will I get it for next gen?. Maybe in about 10 years time, if that. Plus R*'s idea to give out exclusive content for people to upgrade, which should have already been in the game to start. Along with the whole center point of online *cough* heists *cough*. But atleast they have sense to not charge you for content. Unlike most games.

So IMO, I'll stick with SLRR and if its GTA. I can just play it on last gen.

I don't think it was possible for them to have that content they have released as DLC's ready since the initial GTA V release, if you have familiar with how game development works then you know its amazing they were able to do what they did do within the amount of time they had to do it.
