Im new here so this may be rhetorical...

Id like to enter in the next competition taking place, im old school and like older cars. So most of my engine builds start with Devils V8, DragV8 and Randalls Beast. Are those blocks concidered " cheater blocks"? I could see Randalls Beast, however i dumb the HP down till its controlable. The DragV8 @4900hp is very moderate and easy to drive but Devils V8 with all of the details is where its at.

It seems im a little late in the game to join lol from what i understand this games been around a while, i wish i had known sooner. I personally have a 89' IROC drag car that ive hand built, blood, sweat and beers. I also own a 1967 Cuda, tuning and building cars is what im into.

Getting back to SLRR, i drag a 66' Chevrolet Drag Fleetside, Randalls Beast as the power house, i modified his transmission to a 1 speed + reverse, i run 17x10s softs on the front and a wide 15x15 set of slicks on the rear, the rear rims are kind of sad looking compared to the Drag wheel pack i have but they stop at a 15x13 and look small in the wheel well of the 66s wide rear.

At topeka i can pull 5.2-5.5s in the 1/4.

I know this competition is far over... but hopefully i can play with you boys on the next go arround.

We can just start a new competition. No rules any motor any mod, whatever tires you wanna run. Gotta think....new street drag cars like tuner style ones (Supra's, Audi's, gtr's...ect) are runnin over 1000hp now. Alot of the motors in SLRR are scripted to keep dyno numbers reasonable probably max of like 1200 horse or so. I just rescripted of of the parts on some of the motors I downloaded to get more HP and TQ. Ex...1900Hp GTR with the rescripted Devils V6 (Uses close to same specs as Alpha Omega 4.4 Big Bore Block but modified scripting for higher hp and tq)

It wouldn't be a competition if everyone had a beast v8 stuffed into a fiat on 405s though.

My suggestion is forget setting it by max hp and max tq, just do it by power to weight ratio

Like i said before ive built my own drag car and race it.

Grudge Races are just that... no holds bar.

But as someone had already stated
Most are power to weight

Example:

Stock Chassis 3200lbs+
Stock Configuration Blocks ( Bore/Size )
Aftermarket Heads Permited ( Port and Polished included )
Turbo or Superchargers Permited
Any fuel under 110 race gas
Drag DOT 28.5x11s max rim and tires
Slicks and Cheater Slicks Prohibited.

This gives you a basic stock car chassis with no weight lightening ( ive seen this in some cases )
The stock blocks and bores will keep horsepower in about the same ranges when people are using common blocks it gives everyone a level playing field.
The heads and power adders give you options to make 1,000hp even with a stock block its possible
Using 110 fuel as a max gets medium and realistic duties from computer motors, ive noticed that making engines run on " Diesel Oil " gives a HP boost... and is rather un realistic unless you have motors producing compression in the 400+ range and lets face it... alot of these motors arnt.
DOT Drag tires, keeps it competitive. Anyone can make slicks hook... so gearing right so a DOT tire can grab is important.

Ive got experience in setting up fair and level race fields, so if youd like i could help you with some rules to go by. Im not mocking or dogging or dissing the rules here, but i can agree with hockus that they are on the vague side. Power to weight is a large key factor in almost every type of fair racing fields... be it NHRA/IHRA Drag Racing.... or NASCAR.

Saying that... i realize not everyone has the same game/mods, but giving more rules gives a more level playing field...but wont always produce the fastest ETs or highest MPH-1/4mi.

Building classes and making them fair takes trial and error, youve learned on this one power to weight is where alot of difference were. Like oxman wrote stuffing a turbo V8 into a fiat... isnt exactly fair lol.

Just my .02

I agree with oxman to a point...

Power to weight is a great base, i like the grid you have. However i wouldnt worry so much on ETs.

4900hp is what i can push out of the stock Drag V8, it will get you into the 5-6 sec range per QtMi. Perfect for an outlaw class.
so set up a chassis minimum, say 2800lbs... a typical 4th gen camaro chassis.
Set a bore/ stroke say....105mm/110mm ( Devils V8 and Drag V8 )
And if you want a wild outlaw class limit tire size... say a 15x11 Slick max

I wouldnt include or exclude cages... as they dont alter anything but appearances or so it seems to me.

Redline would be a great thing to limit as you dont want someone spinning 28k lol make it reasonable and set the redline roof at 10k. But remember what classes really need such rules, i wouldnt limit Redline on say an unlimited class.

Forcing odd engine combos always leads to suprise.

Lets just call one topic "Drag Show Off" for guys like me that just like the vehicle look and real power and tq curves. Then add rules for the "Drag Competition" then add classes

Example My car from that T2K15 topic (Swapped Porsche) would be in "Show off" because I modified the engine java's even tho its within the Porsche Panamera V6TT Spec
