There are ways to increase polygon levels, and that would help alot.
Now obviously it would be alot work, but it would be worth it if it turned out good. This is all in all a pretty good idea, thanks to Takumi, but we need people who would be willing to model.

That does not change the styling methods......Just because you can up the polygon levels, does not mean that it will all of a sudden become this awesome looking model. Also take a look at those models, theres a fair amount of texturing on there. What im saying is that by todays standards, these models are indeed rough. As a modeler, its that case where its smarter to spend the time and make it from scratch again, to also correct any proportional issues. At the end of the day its faster to go from scratch than to take this and modify it.

It's tempting to want to work with that model, I'm currently busy editing the cfg's for a 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer mod I made though. I could even eventually do a 1971 Charger mod like suggested, I'm just not good with texturing, lighting work, and add-on parts like body kits.

This is pretty cool! There are some cars that only were in Gran Turismo 2 and no other GT game, but the cars only have about 500-550 polygons, so you may have to do a lot of work if you're going to make a mod for it.

Thanks for showing of how it would look like if imported into a 3d modelling program but it would never have been wrong to modify it into a masterpiece though.

I'd like to try and convert all the cars to 3ds file format. I tested on Blender and they load up fine. Once every car is done I could just pack it all for you people. Tho I'm not doing all this work if without a reason or an ambition. I'd like to use all this cars and somehow make a racing game.

Tried finding some way of ripping GT3/4 models, they are decent enough quality. Haven't been able to, and the people who did, said the models are actually pretty bad. Would be nice though.
