Ah for lack of better words on my end XD

You will want to click you desired part, in this case it will be all attached (assume you have clicked group and see if ungroup is an option, this is in the upper left~ish area "Group")

When you have your part clicked that you wish to divide up, you may use Element, polygon, or face. Vertex and edges are more for editing. Let's say you used Element which should be quite handy for a forza model as most are into elements that aren't really just faces so you won't end up clicking polys/faces everywhere and get arthritis.

I noticed that the newer versions of zmodeler can also do that.
Which do you think would be easier/better?
Also, I am using an ancient version of 3dsmax, just so I can export as an .scx. :D
Here's the link that explains how to do it in zmodeler:

heh I am quite the opposite, ZM is quite foreign to me in the sense of texturing and dividing D: I would say MAX is a bit more user friendly and easier to find functions/navigate.

That's totally normal as well, almost everyone uses MAX 5 for that, plus I can't get 9 or 12 to successfully export .DDS image files it won't give the other textures in the .TEX file on export, def a bummer. They're are all essentially the same though just 12 and up have some fancy Graphite Tools. I only use 9 mostly for tracks and 12 for parts with custom reflections (use .PNG to achieve this since the .DDS hate!)

Alright, in that case I will stick to 3dsmax. :)
So I was able to select the tire, but where do I tell it that it is an element?

Added 2 minutes later:

Nevermind, I found it.

Added 4 minutes later:

So apparently, now one of my wheels is called group 1. :/
Is it supposed to be?

Added 5 minutes later:

Ok, I don't think starting with a car is a good start for me, especially when I have no idea what I am doing. :D
Let's see if I can at least do a rim. :)

you will want to click "Modify" which is highlighted in pic.

Once this is done you may drag a box over desired area to select, this is how you can tell it's an element it'll come out as one piece or I.E. it's a tyre sometimes the walls will be seperate and it will only select the centre of the tyre if that's where you clicked or dragged your mouse to select.

Now I have clicked the fender as in this model the chassis shell was attached to the front fenders. Once a element, poly or face is clicked/selected it will turn that bright red. From here you may click detach and it will become seperate from the rest of the main piece.

Oh, ok!
Let's see if that works!
Thanks!

Added 3 minutes later:

How do I turn the camera?
Also, mine does not turn bright red, it only draws a box over it. :/

You're welcome, I would've made a quick video but then the UL would have taken me 7-15 minutes.

Best of success in your projects, I like the work you're doing to making cars more enjoyable to play with in game. :)

Catch you in a bit mate, I'm gonna go catch some Z's myself.

P's or Q's for RPKs?! I may make a short video/episode attempting to explain them in the simplest way. I know there's a few good tutorials around as well, most videos people zoom and click stuff at MACH 12 XD

I can throw you a rim model if you wish???? any one particular you're looking for???? I'll stay up a few extra minutes now that someones said WHEELS.

To turn the camera as well hold down ALT and press the centre of the scroll wheel down and use mouse to rotate.

You have PM sir :D

Alright!
Again, thanks for your help!

Added 5 hours later:

I decided to start my own muffler. :D
Here's my progress:

Once this is done and exported as an .scx, how do I get it in game?

Added 17 hours later:

Muffler nearing completion!

One question though: how do I make the inside of the muffler black like this one?

2015-12-29 15:43#259542 Defiant : Nice work
Thanks!
I figured out how to make it black, all I need to do now is figure out how to make it look more chrome.

Added 3 hours later:

How do I get my texture to be more chrome-like?

Added 54 minutes later:

Muffler done!
If there is a specific type of muffler that you would like to see in the game, post below.
