Hey there! Just created another car construction system in Unity3D. It's currently pending for review in Unity Asset Store.

The main features:

- Construction system. Unmount every engine, suspension and body part!
- Physical system depending on installed parts
- Simple dyno curve simulation
- Visual effects for all car parts failure: engine overheating smoke (and getting damage), sparks when wheel missing, exhaust smoke depending on engine configuration
- Calculation car mass according to installed parts
- Engine and suspension tuning: tuned engine parts increase engine power, tuned suspension parts improve handling
- Engine deterioration
- Tuning body parts: bumpers, hood, spoiler, etc
- Openable doors, hood, trunk
- Spinning engine parts: camshaft pulley, generator pulley etc.
- Simple racing system: checkpoints, speedometer, tahometer
- Ignition timing adjustment
- Car paint system

The package includes the car, race track and garage.

Looks quite intriguing. I'll be sure to give the demo a try. But just so you know, I'm quite skeptical on first posters when it comes to this stuff, so I'm hoping it is legitimately yours.
If so, I'm really interested to see how far this'll go and don't quit half way through please, we've had plenty of false hopes on people re-creating this game and not to mention multiplayer.
When drag racing there is no replacement for displacement.

Actually I created this thread just to share what I've done because it relates to what this forum is about. This is more like just an asset, or template. It was supposed to be sold at Unity Asset Store and to become an inspiration or start kit for some team of developers who could finish the game. I'm really not sure it is possible that a single person (like me) can finish such big project like a complete PC game containing huge amount of contents like cars, race tracks, different tune parts, engine parts, wheels etc. It took me 3 months to develop this: a month to learn Unity3D basics, a month for modeling the car with detailed interior and engine and a month for coding and modeling the race track. So modeling only 7-9 cars with their interior, different engine parts and suspension would take me at least half a year.

The only thing I could produce alone is a mobile game for iOS and android based at this asset. That's what I'm currently thinking about. It would contain the same construction system like one in this project, but more generalized (due to mobile devices perfomance limits) . I mean, there won't be ability to unmount every suspension or engine part, but player would be able to install different shock absorbers, brake disks, body kits, various engine systems (cooling system, ignition system, air intake system, etc), and to customize all suspension and engine parameters.

Yes, Russian

Instead of modeling parts and cars from scratch just rip !?!

As for tracks anything from Rfactor is easy to have if you want it. [I can teach if needed]

& Great work so far I look forward to more news.

ps sorry for bad english I'm english.

Sterling Well, just tell me one thing, would you like to play the original Street Legal if it contained cars and all race tracks from, say, NFS Underground only?

I just don't see any reason to create a game using just ripped models.

ps haha nice joke:D

I'm sure SL1 would have been better with all the cars and tracks from nfsu.

I understand your point thats fair enough :D It was just a idea to make your task easier thats all.

Maybe it would, but only for us, people who love this game already. I got it, and thank you for your offer. But such project won't be an independent complete game, therefore it couldn't be sold. And in this case, what is my benefit to perform such huge work? The enthusiasm and satisfaction of completed work are too little reward for the year of sleepless nights :D
