So I'm trying to convert some rfactor tracks (not gonna say what yet but it'll be cool) to slr. The meshes work fine but my problem is textures. I use 3DSimmed to convert the track to 3ds, then use Cinema4D to make any changes I want to the mesh, and finally import/texture/export with 3DS. My question is what's the fastest/easiest way to apply the textures to the mesh in 3ds?

export textures from 3dsim [png is probably best to use as editing is easy]

when asked if you would like to use the new texture files with the project select yes. [important]

export 3ds from 3dsim. [It should now use new/exported texture files.]

rename to 8 characters [there are tools that will do them all for you in one easy go][max uses names 8 charecters or less idk why]

open in max, should be all ready textured.

^^ A part of this may be incorrect in some way as I have not done a map in a while from rFactor.

p.s just use max to make changes unless your much more knowledgeable in cinema 4D.

It still won't load the textures automatically. It's ok, I started manually re-texturing it. Now I have a new problem, when I apply the "main" pavement texture, it gets used for the track too, even though it has its own. Now I can't apply the actual track texture without using it on the rest of the pavement (not pretty). How would I go about mapping it when my UI looks like this-

I haven't got a clue how to fix it but I can manage to texture and such just fine, UV mapping is another story. I've already tried resetting my layout, etc.
