Example: A .max from Max 5 can be open from any Max newer than 5, but a .max can't be opened in a older version like open a Max 10 .max file in Max 9 or any older max than Max 10.

I was to lazy to explain in decent detail.. sorry :)

You would export from zmod as .3ds and *import* that in max5 and once you save it as a .max it is a .max

For .obj in max5 you'll need the plugin for importing, you could google it but the one I found is Here 3rd post down.

You'll also need the scx exporter plugin for max5 Here

You may also need the scx import plugin/filter for zmod. If its on Gom I haven't found it but if you google you find it on VStance.

Another bit that will help is Miran's tools for Max found Here

I haven't got around to using Mirans tools yet because I just started mucking about with models myself but If you need any help with rips I have Juiced2, FM2, some dlc's for FM3 (sold my disc few years back but still had files on my box), and FH2 but I still gotta get FH2 files ripped, I've also got my FM1 disc for orig xbox ripped for modded orig xbox but the files aren't compatable with forzastudio from what I can tell.

Point is I can get you files to work with and if you get it figured out I can help you with scripts.

I have also gained access to Blizzard Mountain files too. [Not yet on gmru]

Delete all of the bad/lower LODS First. [If it has them]
lod1,lod2,lod3,lod4
Should look much better quality then.
Then smooth if needed still.

Just a quick question along the same lines, If I can get lod0 files should I use those instead of lod1? is it ok to use lod1 if no lod0 is present?
