The shift speed in engines such as the LS Series, the S85B50, and BB93's K Series, the shift speed is basically instant. How is this possible?
Hi everyone! I haven't been around much, because BeamNG just captured my interest much more than SLRR did. Anyways, I hope to return to SLRR modding soon.

A lack of scripting to not be slow.

Actually is the same speed than in the other engines, but without the powershifting effect, and sounds like a slow automatic transmission. Im interested to know what script makes this ”automatic trans” effect, but I think it has something to do with inertia.

Yes 9krpm, it's a bit about engine enertia if you make a engine with a real enertia it will accelerate shift really good! But the shift time is one game .exe! Here in GOM we got a thread by Dendav, where he put a link to a .exe he edited the shift to. E

Take it easy... and if it's easy, take it.

Thanks for the link. However, I still have questions. If the speed is hard-coded into the .exe, how is it edited? Can it be edited with a simple hex editor?

It's hardcoded and it's a bit complicated thing: the game is literally pressing a clutch key for you when automatic transmission begins shifting to the next gear.
