Meh, I can't be bothered about NFS anymore anyway. Once they moved away from the feel of the game from Underground and Underground 2, it became lame. Shift was somewhat good due to the handling, but still, nothing close to how awesome Underground and Underground 2 were.

That's why I'm no longer as interested in racing / driving games as in FPS / strategy games.

NFS has killed itself... Only racing games I like (Haven't got PS and Xbox) are with realistic handling. Shift was close but not enough. Colin McRae Dirt 2 was perfect - few days ago installed it again. Old Escort just took me in! xD Also I'm using only steering wheel now.

I don't think Dirt 2 was as good. Still nothing can compare to the old Colin McRae Rally 4. As cool as this new stuff may be, real rallies were a lot cooler.

Unfortunately I have to say that many series are getting dumbed down in order to cater for consoles. Not to mention consoles are easier platforms to develop games for because they are all standardized unlike PCs.

Not to mention the general audience of consoles : the kids that were previously deafening us in CounterStrike are now on Xbox. Not to mention the ultra-casual audience, which buy a game, play it for a few hours then throw it into the bin and return to CoD or Halo. Or should I even talk about the people constantly arguing about CoD vs. Halo or PS3 vs. Xbox 360 or GT vs. FM and stuff like that...just shows their true intelligence and fanboyism - they don't buy games after criteria such as gameplay, graphics etc., they just buy it because of the name.

Look at all the major series out there : Need for Speed, Battlefield, Medal of Honor, Call of Duty...they were all best before the "next-gen" consoles took over the market, when people actually demanded quality.

These games were good somewhere in the "middle" of the titles list: NFSUG, NFSUG2, BF2, MoH:AA, CoD4:MW. Or at least that's what I think.

The new NFS doesn't appeal to me anymore. Nerfed in terms of complexity and gameplay.
Battlefield while constantly improving became somewhat smaller in scale and complexity after BF2142 (which i didn't play because of the futuristic setting). Hopefully it will return to it's former glory while bringing back elements of the current titles with the future Battlefield 3.
MoH:AA - Great game, now attempting a reboot, though I'm not sure how they'll fare after CoD, the splinter that grew out of MoH took over the market.
CoD is severely nerfed in terms of authenticity, scale and general feel. CoD died after MW, that's what I say. Activision is now rolling big on the CoD series, after ruining it by hiring Treyarch to do WaW and now BO and by rushing Infinity Ward with MW2's PC version in favor of the console crowd.

EDIT : Damn, I wanted to continue my rant...

Some Medal of Honor multiplayer goodness :awesome

It did go a long way since the beta in terms of graphics, UI, and gameplay. I'm impressed. Also, it's a friggin' awesome map.

I also like the radio chatter at 0:28. Also at 1:27 it appears a friendly got hit be a Taliban axe :lol

There will also be a Medal of Honor novel written by some British ex-SAS guy included for pre-orders. Still not certain if this is for UK only, or for specific retailers.
